Pirates farm report for Sept. 6, 2024: Jack Brannigan's 18th homer lifts Greensboro to win

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 67-66) lost 13-9 to Toledo (Tigers). RF Matt Gorski (.264) tallied three hits while driving in two. DH Billy Cook (.276) hit his 15th home run of the season with a three-run blast in the ninth. SS Nick Yorke (.332), 1B Malcom Nūnez (.260) and C Jason Delay (.283) each tallied two hits. 3B Andres Alvarez (.263) drove in two on his 10th double of the season. RHP Luis Cessa (4-7, 4.72) took the loss after allowing six runs (five earned) on seven hits with a walk and two strikeouts in four innings.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 56-74) fell to Hartford (Rockies), 7-1. 2B Termarr Johnson (.131) tallied two hits, including a double. CF Jace Bowen (.233) hit his 16th double of the season. 1B Nick Cimillo (.209) drove in Altoona’s lone run of the game with an RBI single in the first inning. LHP Anthony Solometo (1-7, 6.37) lasted just one inning after giving up six runs on six hits with a walk and took the loss. RHP Jaycob Deese (5.68), LHP Blake Townsend (4.50) and RHP J.C. Flowers (3.83) combined to allow no runs on three hits in seven innings of relief.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 73-55) topped Bowling Green (Rays), 4-3. 3B Jack Brannigan (.235) was 3 for 4 with a two-run home run, his 18th of the season. CF Hudson Head (.208) and 1B Jasiah Sightler (.192) each recorded a hit and drove in a run. RHP Garrett McMillan (1-0, 0.43) earned his first victory of the season while tossing three no-hit innings with one strikeout in relief. RHP Mike Walsh (1.38) recorded a four-out save, his fourth of the season.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 53-75) and Daytona (Reds) were suspended in the fourth inning. The game will be continued as part of a doubleheader Saturday.
