Pirates farm report for Sept. 9, 2023: Henry Davis homers for Indy in rehab outing

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 62-73) dropped a 13-2 decision to Toledo (Tigers). RF Henry Davis (.297) hit a solo home run in his first rehab outing. He has been out of the lineup with a right-hand strain. RF Canaan Smith-Njigba (.258) also knocked in a run. CF Matt Gorski (.364) was 2 for 4 with a double. SS Nick Gonzales (.269) was 0 for 4. RHP Max Kranick (4.05) started and tossed two no-hit innings with a walk and strikeout. LHP Cam Alldred (7-8, 5.30) took the loss after allowing six runs (five earned) on four hits with four walks and two strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings.

Next: Sunday vs. Toledo (Tigers), 1:35 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 62-66) won 9-2 over Harrisburg (Nationals) in a rain-shortened game. C Eli Wilson (.278) hit a two-run homer. RF Jase Bowen (.429) hit two doubles and had three RBIs. 1B Jacob Gonzalez (.235) hit an RBI single. CF Matt Fraizer (.260) hit a two-run single. 3B Joe Perez (.341) had an RBI single and improved his on-base streak to 24 games. RHP Aaron Shortridge (11-8, 5.12) earned the complete game win after allowing two runs in 5 1/3 innings with seven strikeouts.

Next: Sunday vs. Harrisburg (Nationals), 1 p.m.

GREENSBORO (High-A, 68-60) lost 11-4 to Bowling Green (Rays). C Wyatt Hendrie (.211) hit a solo homer. RF Sammy Siani (.230) also had an RBI. 2B Francisco Acuna (.277) was 1 for 3 with a double. RHP Derek Diamond (2-2, 6.00) took the loss after allowing eight runs on nine hits with three walks and four strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings.

Next: Sunday at Bowling Green (Rays), 2:05 p.m.

BRADENTON (Low-A, 75-54) won 5-4 over Fort Myers (Twins). 2B Mitch Jebb (.299) hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning for the winning run. He knocked in two runs for Bradenton. 1B Esmerlyn Valdez (.278) tripled in two runs. SS Javier Rivas (.186) also had an RBI. RHP Patrick Reilly (2-2, 5.91) allowed one hit and had two strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings to earn the win.

Next: Sunday at Fort Myers (Twins), noon
