Three Pittsburgh Pirates players left the game against the San Francisco Giants with injuries Friday night at PNC Park.
In the eighth, shortstop Erik Gonzalez and center fielder Starling Marte collided trying to run down a bloop single by Yangervis Solarte.
Both Pirates players were on the ground for several minutes before Gonzalez left the field on his own. Marte stood up and was taken from the field on a golf cart.
Jung Ho Kang moved from third base to replace Gonzalez while J.B. Shuck shifted from left field to center field.
Starting pitcher Jordan Lyles suffered a contusion of his right throwing hand in the sixth inning when he deflected a line drive off the bat of Joe Panik that turned into a double play.
