INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 65-71) lost 7-2 to Toledo (Tigers). The Indians trailed 7-1 after four innings. LHP Brandon Waddell (3-7, 9.00 ERA) gave up five earned runs, six total, including three home runs in 2 1/3 innings with three strikeouts, a walk and nine hits allowed. 2B Jake Elmore (.336) and CF Jason Martin (.267) each batted in a run. SS Cole Tucker (.265) went 1 for 4.

Next: Friday vs. Columbus (Indians), 7:15 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 69-67) won 3-2 over Akron (Indians). LHP Cam Vieaux (4-4, 2.23) threw 7 1/3 scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts, three walks and two hits allowed in a winning effort. RF Bligh Madris (.262) hit an RBI double and scored a run. 1B Jerrick Suiter (.238) was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI. SS Oneil Cruz (.274) also knocked in a run. RHP Jesus Liranzo (2-1, 1.61) recorded his first save with the Curve this season despite allowing two runs on two hits in the ninth inning. It was his second save in the minors this season.

Next: Friday at Harrisburg (Nationals), 7 p.m.

BRADENTON (High-A, 73-62) defeated Palm Beach (Cardinals). The Marauders scored four runs in the seventh inning to break a 1-1 tie. 1B Mason Martin (.239) finished 2 for 4 from the plate with two doubles and three RBIs. Martin has 13 doubles and 46 RBIs in 49 games with the Marauders this season. 3B Dylan Busby (.213) was 2 for 3 with a double and two runs. LHP Joe Jacques (4-3, 2.41) got the win after allowing a run on three hits in two innings of relief. RHP Gavin Wallace (5-8, 4.13) gave up a run in six innings with eight strikeouts, a walk and four hits allowed in a no-decision. RHP John O’Reilly (1-0, 0.47) recorded his second save with the Marauders this season. Bradenton’s last series this season — at St. Lucie (Mets) for three games — has been cancelled because of the expected rain from Hurricane Dorian.

GREENSBORO (Low-A, 77-57) lost 7-0 to Rome (Braves). RHP Alex Manasa (9-5, 3.48) was dealt the defeat after giving up four runs in six innings with six strikeouts, a walk and six hits allowed. The Grasshoppers failed to collect an extra base hit.

Next: Friday at West Virginia (Mariners), 7:05 p.m.

WEST VIRGINIA (Short season-A, 38-33) won 5-4 over Batavia (Marlins), scoring all five runs in the last three innings. 2B Cory Wood (.238) and 1B William Matthiessen (.222) each hit solo homers in the bottom of the ninth inning to force extra innings. LF Fernando Villegas (.271) scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the 10th to tie the score at 4-4. Wood then hit a winning fielder’s choice, batting in CF Matthew Frazier (.239) to win the contest. RHP Matt Eardensohn (1-0, 1.80) picked up the victory, giving up two runs in three innings of relief with three strikeouts.

Next: Friday vs. Batavia, 7:05 p.m.
