INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 48-48) won 9-1 over Syracuse (Mets). The Indians scored six third-inning runs with C Christian Kelley (.198) and RF Hunter Owen (.143 with Altoona) each hitting a home run. RHP James Marvel (2-0, 2.55) threw six scoreless innings with nine strikeouts, a walk and only one hit allowed. CF Jason Martin (.248) and 1B Will Craig (.253) both went 2 for 4 with a RBI and a run. Craig drove in his run on a double. 2B Cole Tucker (.275) went 0 for 5 with a run scored and two strikeouts.

Next: Friday vs. Syracuse, 7:05 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 50-43) lost 1-0 to Bowie (Orioles) despite holding the Baysox to three hits. Reliever Joel Cesar (2-3, 4.01 with Altoona) gave up the game’s lone run. CF Jared Olivia (.281) and 2B Mitchell Tolman (.258) went 2 for 4, with Olivia stealing his 27th base this season. RHP Cody Bolton (0-1, 7.53 with Altoona) threw six scoreless innings in a no-decision with a strikeout, a walk and a hit allowed.

Next: Friday at Bowie, 7:05 p.m.

BRADENTON (High-A, 50-45) was postponed because of weather. The game will be made up July 22. RHP Brad Case (2-2, 3.50 with Bradenton) is expected to start Friday night at Tampa (Yankees).

GREENSBORO (Low-A, 59-37) lost 2-1 to Augusta (Giants). RHP Steven Jennings (5-8, 5.10) took the loss after allowing two runs in four innings with four strikeouts, two walks and two hits surrendered. 3B Zack Kone (.189) went 1 for 2 with a triple and a run scored. DH Fabricio Macias (.296) recorded his 50th RBI this season.

WEST VIRGINIA (Short season-A, 17-15) won 6-1 over State College (Cardinals). SS Ethan Paul (.192) hit a third-inning, three-run homer as part of a five-run inning, which gave the Black Bears a 5-0 advantage. RHP Noe Toribio (1-1, 2.88) allowed only an unearned run in five innings with seven strikeouts, two walks and four hits allowed en route to victory. 1B Brendt Citta (.357) was 3 for 4 with a double, a RBI and a run scored. CF Matthew Fraizer (.286) went 3 for 3 with a RBI and a score.
