INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 35-30) lost 4-2 to Pawtucket (Red Sox). The Indians got out to an early lead after 2B Jake Elmore (.364) and CF Jason Martin (.229) drove in runs to make it 2-0 in the first inning. The Red Sox scored four unanswered runs, including three in the seventh, and outhit Indianapolis 11-2 after the first frame. RHP Chris Stratton (0-1, 4.50) recorded the loss after allowing three runs — one earned — on five hits in two innings of relief with two strikeouts and a walk. It was Stratton’s second appearance in his rehab assignment. He was placed on the 10-day injury list May 25 because of right side discomfort. RHP Eduardo Vera (3-4, 5.75) pitched six innings, giving up one run on six hits with five strikeouts in a no-decision. SS Cole Tucker (.297) went 1 for 4 with a triple and a run scored.

Next: Saturday vs. Pawtucket, 7:05 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 33-31) defeated Binghamton (Mets), 6-2. The Curve scored four unanswered runs over the final four innings. SS Robbie Glendinning (.333) went 2 for 4 with a two-run homer in the seventh inning. 3B Hunter Owen (.300) was 3 for 3 with a double and two runs scored. C Jason Delay (.274) drove in two runs despite going hitless. RHP Blake Cederlind (2-0, 1.40) recorded the win after pitching 1 1/3 scoreless innings of relief with a walk, a strikeout and a hit surrendered. LHP Domingo Robles (1-1, 2.78) gave up two runs on six hits in 4 2/3 innings with five strikeouts and three walks in a no decision.

Next: Saturday at Binghamton, 6:35 p.m.

BRADENTON (High-A, 36-30) are on an All-Star break until June 16. Seven Marauders were named to the Florida State League all-star game June 15, including CF Travis Swaggerty (.221), SS Robbie Glendinning (.340) and RHP Cody Bolton (6-3, 1.72).

Next: Monday vs. Clearwater (Phillies), 6:30 p.m.

GREENSBORO (Low-A, 42-25) won 4-1 over Kannapolis (White Sox). RHP Steven Jennings (5-6, 5.14) earned the win after allowing one run in six innings with a walk, seven strikeouts and four hits. 3B Patrick Dorrian (.249) went 2 for 3 with a double, a two-run homer and three RBIs. RHP Yerry De Los Santos (2-0, 1.72) recorded his third save this season.

Next: Saturday at Kannapolis, 7 p.m.

WEST VIRGINIA (Short season-A, 0-1) lost their season opener to Mahoning Valley (Indians), 5-4. RHP Braxton Ashcraft (0-1, 3.60) picked up the loss after allowing two earned runs, three total, on two hits in five innings with three strikeouts and a walk. SS Dean Lockery (.250) went 1 for 4 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored.

Next: Saturday vs. Mahoning Valley, 7:05 p.m.
