INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 37-32) were defeated 6-3 by Buffalo (Blue Jays). RHP Eduardo Vera (3-5, 5.94) gave up five runs in 5 1/3 innings with five strikeouts and nine hits allowed in a losing performance. SS Cole Tucker (.300) went 1 for 4 with a RBI. Tucker and CF Jason Martin (.218) were the only Indians to drive in runs. RF J.B. Shuck (.303) was 1 for 4 with a triple and a run scored.

Next: Thursday at Buffalo, 1:05 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 36-32) won 3-1 over Harrisburg (Nationals). The Curve got out to a 3-0 lead after three innings and outhit the Senators, 11-4. SS Robbie Glendinning (.323) went 2 for 2 with a pair of RBI singles. He has two home runs, eight RBIs and 10 hits in 13 games with Altoona this season. 3B Hunter Owen (.298) went 2 for 4 with a RBI double and a run scored. Owen has 15 doubles, 15 home runs and 44 RBIs in 67 games this season. RHP James Marvel (7-5, 3.36) struck out nine to earn the win, allowing just one run on four hits in 7 2/3 innings. RHP Matt Eckelman (1-2, 4.94) recorded his 10th save out of 10 opportunities this season.

Next: Friday at Hartford (Rockies), 6:30 p.m.

BRADENTON (High-A, 37-32) lost 12-7 to Clearwater (Phillies). The Threshers scored five unanswered runs to break a 7-7 tie. RF Cal Mitchell (.280) went 2 for 5 with a fifth inning three-run homer, a double and two runs scored. The home run tied the score at 7-7. RHP Gavin Wallace (1-3, 4.82) recorded the loss after giving up three runs (one earned) in three innings of relief with two strikeouts, a walk and three hits. RHP Aaron Shortridge (3-2, 3.95) allowed seven runs, including two home runs, in five innings with five strikeouts, two walks and eight hits. C Deon Stafford (.246) was 2 for 3 with a two-run homer and two runs scored. CF Travis Swaggerty (.219) went 2 for 4 with two runs scored.

Next: Thursday vs. Tampa (Yankees), 6:30 p.m.

GREENSBORO (Low-A, 44-25) are on all-star break. The six Grasshoppers were selected to play in the South Altantic League all-star game including 1B Mason Martin (.263), CF Lolo Sanchez (.301) and RHP Brad Case (7-1, 2.45) among others.

Next: Thursday vs. Delmarva (Orioles), 7 p.m.

WEST VIRGINIA (Short season-A, 3-3) lost to Mahoning Valley (Indians), 7-4. All runs were scored within the first five innings as the Scrappers built a 7-0 advantage after 4 1/2 innings, which was followed by the Black Bears producing a four spot in the bottom of the fifth. LF Brett Kinneman (.167) hit a two-run single,. DH Nick Patten (.217) batted in a run on a ground-rule double, and 2B Kyle Mottice (.400) hit a run-scoring single home to make up the four-run frame. The Black Bears used five pitchers. Starter RHP Will Kobos (0-1, 15.43) earned the loss after allowing five runs (four earned) in 2 1/3 innings with three strikeouts, four walks and three hits.
