Pirates minor league report: Gregory Polanco logs 2 RBIs in rehab

INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 7-4) won 9-1 over Toledo (Tigers) for its seventh win in eight games. RHP J.T. Brubaker (2-0, 1.69) threw 51/3 scoreless innings with four hits allowed and five strikeouts en route to victory. SS Cole Tucker (.356) went 3 for 5 with a double, triple and an RBI. 2B Jake Elmore (.405) went 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs. CF Bryan Reynolds (.359) hit a solo home run in the fourth inning. RF Gregory Polanco (.400) finished 2 for 5 with two RBIs in his second rehab start in Indianapolis.

Next: Tuesday vs. Toledo, 11 a.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 6-5) lost 4-2 to Harrisburg (Nationals). The Curve pitchers allowed four unanswered runs after going up 2-0 in the third inning. CF Jared Oliva (.500) and C Arden Pabst (.136) each hit a double. SS Stephen Alemais (.250) and 1B Jerrick Suiter (.314) each drove in a run. RHP James Marvel (1-1, 2.87) lasted four innings, giving up a run on four hits with six strikeouts, but did not take the loss. RHP Vicente Campos (1-1, 4.50) allowed the winning run in a two-run eighth inning (two solo homers) to earn the loss. Campos had two strikeouts and a walk in his inning.

Next: Tuesday vs. Harrisburg, 6 p.m.

BRADENTON (High-A, 8-4) defeated Tampa (Yankees), 4-1. RHP Aaron Shortridge (2-0, 0.53) picked up the win after throwing six scoreless innings with four strikeouts, two hits and a walk. Shortridge has allowed one earned run in three starts this season. RHP Luis Escobar (0-0, 0.00) recorded his second save this season. RF Cal Mitchell (.244) and 3B Dylan Busby (.233) each hit home runs with Mitchell’s being a two-shot in the fourth inning. LF Chris Sharpe (.133) went 2 for 4 with a double and a triple.

Next: Tuesday at Tampa, 6:30 p.m.

GREENSBORO (Low-A, 6-6) lost 5-4 to Augusta (Giants). RHP Steven Jennings (0-2, 7.90) allowed five runs on four hits and three walks in 41/3 innings to earn the loss. Jennings also struck out five. CF Jonah Davis (.118) went 1 for 5 with a three-run homer in the fifth.

Next: Tuesday at Augusta, 7:05 p.m.
