INDIANAPOLIS (Triple-A, 35-29) lost 11-3 to Buffalo (Blue Jays). RHP Trevor Williams (0-1, 6.00) recorded the loss in his first rehab start since being placed on the 10-day injury list May 17 with a right side strain. Williams pitched three innings with two runs allowed on four hits, a walk and four strikeouts. LF Nick Franklin (.182) went 2 for 4 at the plate with a solo home run, a double and an RBI. SS Cole Tucker (.300) went 0 for 5. DH J.B. Shuck (.313) went 0 for 4.

Next: Friday vs. Pawtucket (Red Sox), 7:15 p.m.

ALTOONA (Double-A, 32-31) won 5-2 over Portland (Red Sox). Both 2B Mitchell Tolman (.260) and DH Bligh Madris (.247) doubled twice with Tolman driving in a run, collecting three hits and Madris scoring twice. RHP James Marvel (6-5, 3.58) threw seven innings with two runs allowed on three hits, three walks and six strikeouts en route to victory. RHP Matt Eckelman (1-2, 5.40) recorded his eighth save this season.

Next: Friday at Binghamton (Mets), 7:05 p.m.

BRADENTON (High-A, 36-30) lost 9-5 to Charlotte (Rays) in a rain-shortened eight-inning game. The Stone Crabs scored three runs in the fourth, seventh and eighth innings to build a 9-0 lead until the Marauders responded with a five-run eighth inning. Bradenton used six pitchers as RHP Cody Bolton (6-3, 1.81) only pitched three innings to start the game despite not giving up a run with two strikeouts, two walks and two hits allowed in a no decision. It was Bolton’s first start since being activated from the seven-day injury list June 4 after straining his right groin. RHP Hunter Stratton (5-1, 3.32) recorded the loss after allowing three runs on two hits in 2/3 innings of relief with a strikeout and two walks. Adrian Valerio (.250) and Chase Lambert (.200) each hit RBI singles as part of the Marauders’ five-run eighth inning.

Next: Monday vs. Clearwater (Phillies), 6:30 p.m.

GREENSBORO (Low-A, 41-25) lost 14-6 to Kannapolis (White Sox). The Intimidators got out to a 10-4 advantage after three innings as they scored six runs in the second. RHP Luis Nova (1-1, 2.25) earned the loss after eight runs were scored against him on five hits in two innings with a strikeout and three walks. DH Mason Martin (.258) went 2 for 4 with a double, a home run and three RBIs along with two runs scored.

Next: Friday at Kannapolis, 7 p.m.

WEST VIRGINIA (Short season-A, 0-0) opens its 2019 season Friday night at home. RHP Braxton Ashcraft (0-0, 0.00) is the Black Bears’ expected starting pitcher.

Next: Friday vs. Mahoning Valley (Indians), 7:05 p.m.

WASHINGTON (Frontier League, 9-22) lost 8-3 to Southern Illinois. The Wild Things gave up all eight of the Miners’ runs in the second inning. RHP Michael Austin (2-4, 3.83) picked up the loss after allowing all eight Southern Illinois scores on six hits in 12/3 innings with a strikeout and two walks. DH Mikael Mogues (.281) hit a first-inning solo home run. C Cody Erickson (.357) hit an RBI double. 2B Ryan Cox (.227) doubled and stole a base.

Next: Friday at Joliet, 7:05 p.m.
