In an effort to get people in the seats, the Pittsburgh Pirates have introduced ticket promotions to entice fans or people just wanting to take in a day at the ballpark.

To get students to come to games, the team is offering $10 seats in the upper bleacher section for every game at PNC Park.

The promotion also offers free stuff and special discounts from Papa John’s — hence the Papa John’s Student Tickets name for the promo.

The $10 seats can be found searching the ticket site using the code: PJSTUDENT. Tickets will be delivered to the MLB Ballpark app, so apparently there will be no paper tickets. According to the ticket site, a valid photo ID is required with the tickets.

The Pirates are also offering half-off tickets in a promotion with Giant Eagle for select games.

The across-town hockey team offers discount tickets for students as well. There are 300 student rush tickets available for Penguins games at PPG Paints Arena, which are discounted to $30 for high school and college kids.
