Pirates pitcher Clay Holmes comes off IL, available against Rockies
The Pittsburgh Pirates have removed RHP Clay Holmes from the 10-day injured list and he will be available against the Colorado Rockies on Sunday afternoon, as the teams compete a four-game series at Coors Field with first pitch scheduled for 3:10 p.m.
Holmes was placed on the I.L. on Aug. 21 with discomfort in his left quadriceps. Earlier, Holmes had been placed on the I.L. on July 24 (retro to the 23rd) with right triceps inflammation.
In 26 appearances for the Pirates in 2019, Holmes is 1-1 with a 6.05 ERA. He’s stuck out 43, walked 28 and has a 1.66 WHIP in 38 2/3 innings pitched.
