Pirates prospect watch: Reliever Beau Burrows completes tour of minor-league system

Notable: Beau Burrows has visited his share of Pirates minor-league facilities this season. The righty reliever was called up to Triple-A Indianapolis this week to complete his tour through the Bucs minor-league system. He suited up for Low-A Bradenton, High-A Greensboro and Double-A Altoona before joining the Indians.
The 28-year-old pitcher has found success at each stop, most recently compiling a 1-1 record and 0.44 ERA in 15 appearances with the Curve.
This season, he has a combined 2-1 mark with 0.59 ERA in 30 1/3 innings with 32 strikeouts and nine walks. He has held opposing hitters to a .112 average, the best of his 10-year career.
Selected by the Tigers in the first round (No. 22 overall) of the 2015 MLB Draft, Burrows made his major-league debut in 2020, appearing in five games with the Tigers. He was designated for assignment in 2021 and claimed by the Twins. He then spent time in the minor-league systems of the Dodgers, Braves and Phillies. Last summer, he played in the American Association of Professional Baseball and was in the Mexican League in April before signing with the Pirates in May.
