Baseball fans watch the opening ceremony of the Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Indians baseball game at Comerica Park, Thursday, April 1, 2021, in Detroit.

Inclement weather in Detroit on Tuesday led to the postponement of the start of the Pittsburgh Pirates’ two-game series with the Tigers at Comerica Park.

The game will be made up as part of a continuous doubleheader, starting at 1:10 p.m. Wednesday. The Pirates’ previously scheduled starting pitchers for Tuesday and Wednesday are Bryse Wilson (0-0, 470 ERA) and Jose Quintana (0-1, 3.32). The Tigers were planning to counter with Michael Pineda (1-1, 3.60) and Tarik Skubal (2-1, 3.05).

After that, the Pirates (9-13) will be off Thursday and travel to Cincinnati for the start of a four-game series against the Reds, who are in last place in the National League Central. That series includes a day-night doubleheader Saturday at Great American Ball Park.
