Pirates-Tigers game postponed; doubleheader slated for Thursday
Wednesday’s contest at Comerica Park between the Pittsburgh Pirates (29-45) and Detroit Tigers (47-27) has been postponed because of inclement weather.
On Thursday, the clubs will instead play a split doubleheader, with the original game slated for 1:10 p.m. maintained.
Following that game, at 5:40 p.m., Wednesday’s contest will be played.
The Pirates announced that Andrew Heaney (3-5, 3.33 ERA), Wednesday’s starter, will take the hill Thursday afternoon against Tigers ace Tarik Skubal (7-2, 1.99 ERA), the reigning AL Cy Young winner.
Paul Skenes (4-6, 1.78 ERA) will follow in the second game, with Detroit yet to name a starter for Game 2 of the doubleheader.
