Pirates to begin 2026 season in New York
The Pittsburgh Pirates released their 2026 schedule Tuesday afternoon, which will begin with a three-game series on the road vs. the New York Mets from March 26-29.
March 26 is the earliest start date in Pirates history.
The Pirates will play their first six games away from home next season, as they travel to Cincinnati for a three-game series from March 30-April 1 after leaving New York.
The club’s home opener is set for Friday, April 3, against the Baltimore Orioles at PNC Park.
After three games vs. Baltimore, the San Diego Padres arrive in Pittsburgh for a three-game series.
Other 2026 regular-season highlights include:
• A six-game homestand from May 12-17 against the Colorado Rockies and Philadelphia Phillies.
• Seven home games in a row from May 25-31 vs. the Chicago Cubs and Minnesota Twins.
• A six-game homestand from Aug. 14-19 against the Boston Red Sox and Detroit Tigers.
• The longest homestand of the year (nine games in 10 days) from Sept. 15-24 vs. the Milwaukee Brewers, Kansas City Royals and St. Louis Cardinals.
The Pirates play three games at Yankee Stadium against New York from July 20-22 and conclude the regular season from Sept. 25-27 in Detroit.
