The 2026 NFL Draft isn’t just for fans of the pro game anymore — Pitt Athletics has announced that a three-day block party will take place during the April festivities in Pittsburgh.

“We’re excited to partner with the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust to create a one-of-a-kind experience for our fans during the 2026 NFL Draft,” Pitt athletic director Allen Greene said in a news release. “Hosting the NFL Draft is a tremendous moment for the City of Pittsburgh, and the Pitt Block Party at Arts Landing gives our community a dynamic, family-friendly alternative option to be part of the action away from the North Shore.”

The block party will be one of the first events staged at Arts Landing, a new four-acre civic space currently under construction between 7th and 9th streets Downtown. The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust will celebrate a grand opening of the space coinciding with the Three Rivers Arts Festival beginning June 5.

The Pitt Block Party will feature several tributes to Pitt Panthers football, including an interactive football museum and displays showcasing the program’s history and deep NFL ties. The University of Pittsburgh has produced 11 Pro Football Hall of Famers and stars such as Super Bowl champion and College Football Hall of Famer Aaron Donald.

Beyond football, Pitt Athletics is planning live entertainment, food trucks, an activity zone and additional attractions that will be announced later.

The full schedule will be announced in March.

“From honoring the rich legacy of Pitt football and its impact on the NFL to showcasing the energy of our city’s Cultural District, this event demonstrates that we are proud of our tradition, connected to our community, and excited about the future,” Greene said.

The NFL Draft begins April 23 in Pittsburgh.
