Pitt received its first basketball commitment from the Class of 2019 on Monday when small forward Gerald Drumgoole announced on Twitter his plans to enroll.

Drumgoole, 6-foot-6, 200 pounds, is rated a three-star prospect by Rivals.com, which ranks him 133rd on its list of the top 150 prospects in the nation.

After averaging 19.8 points, 8.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists last season at Irondequoit High School in Rochester, N.Y., he transferred for his senior year to La Lumiere School in La Porte, Ind. He was a football tight end at Irondequoit and received scholarship offers from Buffalo, Toledo and Old Dominion before deciding to focus on basketball.

Drumgoole has 14 scholarship offers, including Georgia, George Mason, George Washington, St. Bonaventure, Maryland, Minnesota and South Carolina.
