Pitt basketball lands 4-star guard recruit Jaland Lowe
Pitt coach Jeff Capel landed the second four-star recruit for his class of 2023 when Jaland Lowe, a shooting guard from Missouri City, Texas, pledged to enroll next year.
Lowe, 6-foot, 160 pounds, joins four-star Carlton Carrington, a 6-3 guard from Baltimore. The third member of Capel’s projected ’23 freshman class is three-star prospect Marlon Barnes, a 6-6 forward from Lyndhurst, Ohio.

Pitt’s ’23 class is ranked 15th in the nation — second in the ACC to Duke — by 247Sports.com
With the addition of guard Dior Johnson, a freshman who has joined team for the upcoming season, Pitt could have three four-star guards — a sophomore and two freshmen— on its 2023-24 roster.
Capel’s recruiting efforts this year have landed seven players: four signed for the current team that began official workouts last week and three who have made nonbinding, verbal commitments.
