Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi looks on during the first day of spring practice in March.

Pitt has been busy collecting verbal commitments for its class of 2024, but coach Pat Narduzzi needed a linebacker or two.

That pursuit found Davin Brewton, a rising senior at Red Bank Catholic (N.J.) High School, who gave Narduzzi a verbal commitment Thursday.

Brewton (6-foot-1, 205 pounds) is rated the 29th overall prospect in New Jersey by Rivals.com, who lists him as an athlete. Initially, Pitt may look at Brewton as a linebacker.

He has five Power 5 offers: Maryland, Northwestern, Pitt, West Virginia and Syracuse.

Brewton is the 11th commitment in Pitt’s class of 2024, sixth on defense. Before he committed, Pitt had the 19th-ranked class in the nation, according to Rivals.
