Tight end Gavin Bartholomew, a senior at Blue Mountain High School in Schuylkill Haven, gave coach Pat Narduzzi a verbal commitment Sunday. He is the sixth recruit from Pennsylvania to join Pitt’s 2021 recruiting class that is ranked 20th in the nation — fifth in the ACC — by Rivals.com.

Pitt has commitments from 21 players. Bartholomew is one of 17 who are rated three-star recruits by Rivals.

Previously committed to Buffalo, Bartholomew (6-foot-5, 248 pounds) has scholarship offers from 18 schools, including Army, Delaware, Villanova and William & Mary.

He is one of two tight ends in Pitt’s class, joining Jake Renda of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
