Pitt-Greensburg will have an athletics hall of fame for the first time.

The university put together a selection committee which began meeting in June. They will consider past standouts for induction in four categories: student-athlete, coach/administrator, team and honorary.

The nomination process begins Wednesday of this week and will end Oct. 15.

Nominations must be submitted through the UPG athletics website.

The first class will be announced in January with a formal celebration planned for February. Plans call for the second class to go in next fall during the annual UPG Blue & Gold Alumni Celebration Week.

“This is something that was an initiative of mine when I first was hired,” UPG athletic director Jeromy Yetter said. “I wanted a formal platform to celebrate all the successes and achievements that our athletics have accomplished in the history of our athletics.”

The physical hall of fame will be located inside the Fireside Lounge at Chambers Hall.
