Pitt men’s basketball received good news Tuesday for its depth at guard when three-star Femi Odukale announced on his Instagram account his plans to enroll next academic year.

Odukale’s commitment came two days after guard Ryan Murphy entered his name in the transfer portal.

Odukale will join Pitt’s group of guards that is expected to include rising juniors Xavier Johnson and Trey McGowens and Ithiel Horton, a Delaware transfer who sat out last season.

Odukale (6-foot-5, 180 pounds) played this season at Springfield (Mass.) Commonwealth Academy after attending South Shore High School in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Odukale chose Pitt over UMass and Seton Hall and also had interest from Virginia Tech, Stony Brook and Washington State.

Pitt coach Jeff Capel has four recruits in his Class of 2020, including four-star center John Hugley and three-star forwards Max Amadasun and Noah Collier.
