Jordan Bass, a reserve linebacker who played in nine games for Pitt this season as a sophomore, has entered the NCAA transfer portal.

Bass (6-foot-4, 230 pounds) started one game over the past two seasons when he replaced Solomon DeShields, who was injured on the opening kickoff at Wake Forest in 2023.

A wide receiver and safety at Phoebus (Va.) High School, he transitioned to star linebacker at Pitt, recorded 25 tackles, 5½ for a loss, one sack, two quarterback hurries and one pass breakup for his career.

He is the only Pitt linebacker to announce intentions to transfer since the portal opened Dec. 9. So far, 13 players from the 2024 roster have entered the portal.

Not long after he revealed his transfer plans on social media X, Bass received scholarship offers from Virginia Tech, N.C. State and Norfolk State.
