Pitt redshirt junior offensive lineman Jackson Brown plans to enter the transfer portal when it opens Jan. 2.
He posted the news on his X account Monday morning.
“I am incredibly thankful for my time at Pitt and want to thank my coaches, teammates and the entire support staff for their help these past three years,” he wrote. “This program has played a significant role in my growth both on and off the field, and I will always appreciate the relationships and memories I’ve built here.”

Brown (6-6, 315) is the fifth Pitt player to announce plans to enter the transfer portal, joining reserve long snapper Nico Crawford, tailback Juelz Goff, receiver/safety Jesse Anderson and wide receiver Zion Fowler-El.
Brown was a reserve offensive lineman this season and saw playing time in 10 games, mostly on special teams. He played in 19 games, including one start, in his Panthers’ career. He will have one season of eligibility remaining.
He transferred to Pitt in 2023 after playing one season at Cal.
Brown’s father, Tony Brown, played at Pitt from 1982-85.
