Albert Thorsen scored a golden goal for Pitt with 2 minutes, 6 seconds left in overtime to lift the No. 2-seeded Panthers to a 3-2 victory over Kansas City in an NCAA third round men’s soccer game Sunday night at Ambrose Urbanic Field.

Arnau Vilamitjana slid a pass into the box to set up Thorson who got behind the defense and beat the Kansas City keeper to the far corner of the net.
Vilamitjana also scored in the 69th minute off a rebound at the top of the box to give Pitt a 2-1 lead.
Casper Grening tied the game at 1-1 in the 14th minute.
The Panthers held a 22-5 shot advantage.
The Roos finished the season 14-5-3.
Pitt (14-5) will play the winner of Vermont and San Diego in the NCAA quarterfinals. The game time will be announced Monday. The Panthers have advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals for the fourth time in the past five seasons.
