Pitt received the No. 2 overall seed in the 2024 NCAA Men’s Soccer Tournament on Nov. 18, 2024.

Pitt’s men’s soccer team was rewarded for a strong regular season with the No. 2 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament on Monday.

The Panthers (12-5) earned a first-round bye and will host the winner of Cornell and Fordham at 5 p.m. Sunday, in the round of 32. Ohio State earned the No. 1 overall seed.

It is the sixth straight season and eighth time overall that the Panthers secured a trip to the NCAA Tournament.

They are 10-6-1 in NCAA Tournament games, including a 10-4-1 record under coach Jay Vidovich. Pitt has made two College Cup appearances in the past four seasons.

The Panthers won the ACC regular-season title outright for the first time in program history after going 6-2 in league play. Vidovich was named the ACC coach of the year, and junior Casper Svendby was named the conference defensive player of the year.

Robert Morris (9-6-3) also earned a spot in the field for the first time since 2005 after winning the Horizon League title. The Colonials play at Michigan at 7 p.m. Thursday in the first found.

West Virginia (12-7) will host North Florida at 7 p.m. Thursday in the opening round. The Mountaineers earned an automatic bid after winning the Sun Belt Conference championship.
