Pitt’s first game against Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind., since 2018 will kick off at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 28 and will be nationally televised by NBC, the schools announced Wednesday.

Locally, the game will be televised by WPXI-TV. It also will be shown on Peacock, NBC’s streaming service.

The 73rd all-time meeting between the schools will be an encounter between teams that finished 2022 with 9-4 records and ranked No. 18 (Notre Dame) and No. 22 (Pitt) in the final Associated Press poll. Both the Irish and Panthers won their bowl games, Notre Dame defeating South Carolina in the Gator Bowl and Pitt winning its Sun Bowl matchup against UCLA.

Two of the past four Pitt games against the Irish at Notre Dame Stadium have gone into overtime, with the Panthers losing three of the four. The total point differential in the four games is 17.

Pitt has won five games in a row, the second-longest active winning streak among ACC schools, and tied for sixth-longest nationally.
