Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi likes to stockpile defensive backs on his roster and in his recruiting classes, and he picked up a second one Saturday when Allen Bryant of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., pledged to enroll next year.

Bryant, a three-star cornerback, verbally committed Saturday during his official visit to the Pitt campus. Pitt welcomed several prospects on official visits this weekend.

Bryant (6-foot-1, 170 pounds) joins Tayshawn Banks of Cincinnati as the defensive backs in Pitt’s class of 2024.

A rising senior at St. Thomas Aquinas High School, Bryant chose Pitt over 16 other offers, including those from Cincinnati, Louisville, Virginia and West Virginia.

Pitt’s class now numbers 12 prospects — all verbal commitments — giving the Panthers a national ranking of 18 and No. 5 in the ACC, according to Rivals.com. The commitments don’t become binding until the December signing day.
