Pitt pitcher Mitch Myers, who threw a complete-game, three-hitter to defeat Virginia and two months later led the Panthers to a 5-3 victory against North Carolina in the ACC Tournament, was picked in the 12th round of the MLB Draft on Tuesday.

Myers, a junior right-hander, was the 368th overall selection.

A native of Lanette, Ala., Myers, 22, started his career at Florida Southwestern State before transferring to Pitt in 2020.

He made four starts last year, compiling a 2-2 record, 3.52 ERA, with 30 strikeouts and only four walks in 23 innings.

During the 2021 season, Myers (6-foot-2, 190 pounds) made 13 starts for the Panthers and finished 5-5 with a 3.21 ERA and 83 strikeouts in 81 1/3 innings. He threw a two-hit, six-inning shutout of Florida State on Feb. 26, helping the Panthers to a 1-0 victory while striking out 13 batters.
