Palm Beach (Fla.) Gardens High School defensive tackle Timothy Brown, who verbally committed to Pitt in June, is under house arrest after he was charged with robbery, felony battery and kidnapping in connection with an incident Thursday in Lake Park, Fla.

The Palm Beach Post, citing a police report, reported four students, including Brown, jumped a man outside a Walmart Supercenter, pointed a gun in his face and threw him out of a moving SUV.

The Post reported Brown played in Palm Beach Gardens’ football game Thursday, hours after the attack is alleged to have occurred.

The unidentified 18-year-old, who had several scrapes and cuts on his arms and legs, initially refused to press charges, fearing retaliation, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff Office’s report.

Later, he said he would cooperate but had a violent seizure and fell unconscious and was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, the report said.

At the hospital, the man told investigators he previously had been “jumped” by the men while leaving his ROTC program.
