Pitt punter Kirk Christodoulou (98) prepares to kick the ball back to Ohio during the second half of an NCAA college football game, Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019, in Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh senior punter Kirk Christodoulou, a Ray Guy Award semifinalist and second team All-American by Pro Football Focus in 2020, has been named to the Guy preseason watch list.

Christodoulou, a native of Melbourne, Australia, has been Pitt’s regular punter since 2018, and is coming off his best season a year ago.

He averaged a career-high 44.7 yards (16th in the nation), but that wasn’t his most impressive statistic. Christodoulou placed 23 punts inside the 20-yard line with just one touchback, and 30 of his 53 punts resulted in a fair catch.

Pitt’s net punting average was a school-record 41.94 yards (1th in the FBS). None of Pitt’s final four opponents last season recorded any punt return yards. Christodoulou was named Ray Guy National Punter of the Week against Florida State and Clemson.

Christodoulou is one of six Pitt players on various preseason watch lists, including wide receiver Jordan Addison, defensive end Deslin Alexandre, defensive tackle Calijah Kancey, tight end Lucas Krull and quarterback Kenny Pickett.
