Ray (6-foot-6, 280 pounds) joins Ryan Carretta and Colin Van Rooy — offensive linemen who attend high school in Ohio— as the first three at that position in Pitt’s class of 2023. He is the fourth prospect from Florida, joining running back Montravius Lloyd, defensive end Antonio Camon and Shadarian Harrison, who could play on either side of the ball.
Ray, a three-star prospect, has scholarship offers from Charlotte, Dartmouth, Florida Atlantic, Indiana and South Florida, plus eight others. Carretta and Van Rooy are also three stars.
Carretta (6-5, 318) is ranked the 35th overall prospect in Ohio. While attending St. Charles High School in Columbus, he received offers from 17 schools, including Duke, Illinois, West Virginia, Tennessee, Iowa State, Michigan State, Kansas, Michigan, Purdue, Kentucky and Louisville, according to Rivals.com.
