Pitt scheduled for return date with Northwestern in ACC/Big Ten Challenge
Pitt will play Northwestern in the 2022 ACC/Big Ten Challenge, with a visit to Evanston, Ill., scheduled for Nov. 28 when Jeff Capel will compete for the third time against former Duke teammate Chris Collins, the Wildcats’ coach.
It will be the Panthers’ second game at Northwestern in three seasons. Pitt defeated the Wildcats, 71-70, in the 2020 Challenge, led by Justin Champagnie’s 20/20 game. He recorded 20 rebounds and 20 points in 40 minutes, including the game-winning dunk in the final seconds. Pitt has won the past four meetings with Northwestern to even the all-time series at 10-10.
Pitt has had an almost complete roster makeover since that game two years ago. John Hugley and William Jeffress — reserves at the time — are the only players who played that night still on the team.
Television information and tip-off time will be announced at a later date.
