Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi continued reaching into the fertile Florida recruiting territory Monday when he landed a verbal commitment from Miami Northwestern High School senior wide receiver Lamar Seymore.

Committed to the University of Miami for more than two years, Seymore visited Pitt last month and decided to choose the Panthers from among 19 scholarship offers. Seymore’s brother, Laurence, is an offensive lineman for the Hurricanes.

Among those schools he was considering are Central Florida, Penn State, Auburn, Florida State, Colorado, West Virginia, Michigan State, Oklahoma and Texas A&M.

Seymore (6-foot-1, 186 pounds) joins a list of six seniors in Pitt’s 16-man 2023 class who attend high school in Florida. They include defensive backs Shadarian Harrison and Jesse Anderson, offensive lineman Tai Ray, running back Montravius Lloyd and defensive end Antonio Camon.

Seymore, who is transferring to Northwestern from Miami Central, is the third wide receiver in the class after Narduzzi received commitments from Kenny Johnson of York and Zion Fowler of Jersey City, N.J.

The overall class, consisting of 16 3-star prospects, is ranked 32nd in the nation and seventh in the ACC by Rivals.
