Femi Odukale, who came remarkably close to averaging a triple-double in his post-grad season, signed a national letter of intent with Pitt on Wednesday. That brings coach Jeff Capel’s 2020 class to four players.

“Femi displayed outstanding versatility, talent, toughness and competitiveness during an outstanding post-grad season,” Capel said in a statement. “We are excited to add him to our recruiting class and look forward to having him in our program.

“He is mentally and physically mature and will have an opportunity to come in and make an immediate impact next season.”

Odukale, a 6-foot-5, 190-pound guard, spent the past season at Springfield Commonwealth (Mass.) Academy where he averaged 17.5 points, 8.2 rebounds, 8.8 assists, 1.2 blocks and 2.7 steals per game. He shot 52 percent from the field, including 39 percent from beyond the 3-point arc.

He led Springfield Commonwealth to a 30-7 record and a Power 5 Conference title while helping SCA reach the quarterfinals of the National Prep Championship.

Odukale scored more than 30 points in six games, with eight triple-doubles, while earning Power 5 Conference Player of the Year honors.

He was rated the top player in Massachusetts by the New England Recruiting Report, and also had offers from DePaul, Massachusetts, Washington State, Virginia Tech, St. Bonaventure and Seton Hall. He previously played at South Shore High School in Brooklyn.

Pitt’s 2020 class, ranked 34th in the nation by 247 Sports, also includes Top-100 forward John Hugley, four-star forward Noah Collier and three-star center Max Amadasun.
