The second-ranked Pitt women’s volleyball team added another feat to its long list of accomplishments this season.
With their 3-1 victory over Louisville on Wednesday at Petersen Events Center, the Panthers finished 18-0 in the ACC and became the first ACC team to run the table since 2004. Pitt finished the regular season 29-1 overall.
Against the Cardinals, redshirt senior Stephanie Williams had 13 kills and 14 digs, and junior Kayla Lund had 15 kills and 10 digs. Senior Layne Van Buskirk had 12 kills in 15 chances for an .800 hitting percentage and added seven total blocks. Junior Chi Ndee added 10 kills, and freshman setter Lexis Akeo had 47 assists.
Redshirt senior libero Hali Hillegas had a season-high 26 digs.
Pitt now prepares for the NCAA Tournament and likely will host first- and second-round matches. The Panthers and the rest of the teams who qualified for the 64-team field will find out their destinations and opponents Sunday night at 8:30 when the selection show airs on ESPNU.
