Pitt's Jordan Addison named first-team All-American by AP; Kenny Pickett, Calijah Kancey also honored
Pitt wide receiver Jordan Addison, quarterback Kenny Pickett and defensive tackle Calijah Kancey were named Associated Press All-Americans Monday.
Addison was a first-team selection while Pickett, a Heisman Trophy finalist and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award winner, was named to the second team and Kancey to the third team.
It was the third first-team honor for Addison, a sophomore who won this year’s Biletnikoff Award after recording 93 receptions for 1,479 yards and a national-best 17 touchdowns. That averages out to about one score for every five catches. His yardage total was tops among Power 5 pass catchers.
Addison also was honored as an All-American by the Walter Camp Football Foundation and Football Writers Association of America (FWAA).
Pickett has completed 67% of his passes (334 of 497) for 4,319 yards, 42 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Pickett’s passing yardage, passing touchdowns, total touchdowns (47) and completions are Pitt single-season records.
Kancey was dominant at times in the trenches while collecting 34 tackles, 12 for a loss, seven sacks and a forced fumble.
