Pitt wideout Zion Fowler-El hits transfer portal
The interim period between Pitt’s regular-season finale and Military Bowl appearance Dec. 27 has been fairly quiet as it pertains to the transfer portal.
But on Tuesday morning, the Panthers lost a member of their offense, as receiver Zion Fowler-El announced he would be entering the portal.
Fowler-El appeared in eight games this year, recording seven catches for 60 yards and a touchdown.
While that constituted some traction from a year ago, when Fowler-El had one catch in three games, his role in the wideouts room was tertiary, as teammates Kenny Johnson, Poppi Williams and Blue Hicks saw the lion’s share of snaps and grabs.
The 6-foot Jersey City, N.J., native now searches for a new home after three seasons at Pitt.
I’ve decided to officially enter the transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining. Thank you pitt
