Pitt men's basketball team will play Michigan in Legends Classic matchup at Barclays Center
Pitt coach Jeff Capel and his rebuilt roster will receive a serious test in the opening round of the 2022 Legends Classic on Nov. 16 when they meet Michigan at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. on ESPNU.
The Wolverines finished 19-15 last season, including two victories in the NCAA Tournament and a trip to the Sweet 16.
Pitt/Michigan will be followed by a matchup between Arizona State and VCU in the second of two first-round games.
The next night, there will be a doubleheader between the winners and losers in the consolation game at 7 p.m. and the championship at 9 p.m. Both games will be shown on ESPN2.
Pitt has made three previous appearances in the Legends Classic (2008, 2013, 2017) and will be seeking its third title (2008, 2013).
The Panthers are 6-12 all-time against Michigan, and the teams have met only twice since the mid-1960s, most recently in the 2012 NIT Seaon Tip-off.
