The Pitt women’s basketball team will open a 20-game ACC schedule Dec. 10 at Virginia Tech, with the Panthers playing their home opener three days later against Clemson at Petersen Events Center.

The ACC announced its 20-game schedule Wednesday, a two-game increase from last year because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The conference, now divided into three regional divisions, will feature home and away games against divisional opponents Boston College, Clemson, Louisville, Notre Dame, Syracuse and Virginia Tech. They also will play five home games against non-divisional opponents and five away games against non-divisional opponents.

In December, Pitt also visits Florida State on Dec. 20 and plays host to Boston College on New Year’s Eve. In January, the Panthers play home games against North Carolina (Jan. 3), Clemson (Jan. 10), Miami (Jan. 21) and Virginia (Jan. 31) and road games at Louisville (Jan. 7), Notre Dame (Jan. 14), Boston College (Jan. 24) and Syracuse (Jan. 28).

Pitt finishes the final month with four games at home, playing Virginia Tech (Feb. 4), Syracuse (Feb. 7), Louisville (Feb. 18) and Notre Dame (Feb. 22). The Panthers visit Wake Forest (Feb. 11), Duke (Feb. 14), NC State (Feb. 25) and Georgia Tech (Feb. 28). The 2021 ACC women’s basketball tournament is March 3-7 at Greensboro Coliseum.
