Pitt women’s basketball coach Lance White is using transfer players to rebuild his team.

White received a verbal commitment Wednesday from guard Destiny Strother, who played sparingly as a freshman this season for Marquette. She will join Jayla Everett, who is transferring from New Mexico.

Strother, who appeared in 17 games for Marquette, scored 14 points while hitting four of nine 3-point attempts.

Pitt has compiled a 16-46 record in White’s first two seasons as head coach.
