Pitt's Jared Wilson-Frame will shoot for $100,000 in national 3-man championship
Jared Wilson-Frame, one of the most prolific 3-point shooters in Pitt history, will be in Minneapolis, site of the Final Four, starting Friday while representing the ACC at the second annual Dos Equis 3X3U National Championship.
Teams are comprised of four seniors from the same conference who have exhausted their collegiate eligibility. Rosters will be announced next week.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to not only represent the University of Pittsburgh but also the Atlantic Coast Conference next weekend in Minneapolis,” Wilson-Frame said. “I am excited to play alongside three amazing players from the best conference in the country for bragging rights and a chance to win $100,000.”
Wilson-Frame became just the third player in Pitt history to make 70 or more 3s in consecutive seasons. He averaged 12.7 points and 5.0 rebounds per game this season while recording 98 3-pointers, second most in a season at Pitt. He set a program record for 3-point field goals per game (2.69) and finished ninth all-time at Pitt with 172 in his career.
The three-day competition will take place at Mall of America, marking the second live sporting event there and first in more than 20 years. Seniors representing every Division I conference will compete for a $150,000 pool, including $100,000 for the winners.
