Pitt's Jeff Capel gets commitment from junior college guard Cashius McNeilly
Pitt coach Jeff Capel added the seventh new player to his roster Friday when junior college shooting guard Cashius McNeilly committed to the Panthers.
McNeilly previously committed to Texas A&M in 2019 and TCU before last season, but never played for those schools before enrolling at Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa. During the 2021-2022 season, McNeilly, 6-foot-4, averaged 10 points and 3.7 rebounds per game and shot 45.1% (41 of 91) from the field and 43.6% (17 of 39) from beyond the 3-point arc. At Northern Oklahoma, he was a teammate of 6-foot-11 forward Fede Federiko, who committed to Capel in April. McNeilly also committed to Maryland earlier this year.
