Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC will open the 2024 USL Championship schedule on the road at New Mexico United in Albuquerque March 9.
The team then will begin the home portion of its 25th anniversary season against Orange County on March 16 at Highmark Stadium.
The Hounds, winners of the 2023 Players’ Shield, will play 34 matches with home-and-home contests against fellow Eastern Conference clubs Louisville, Tampa Bay, Detroit, Miami, Rhode Island, North Carolina, Indy, Hartford, Birmingham, Loudon and Charleston, and also one game against teams from the Western Conference: Orange County and New Mexico, as well as Phoenix, Tulsa, Memphis, Las Vegas, Monterey Bay, Oakland, Sacramento, San Antonio, and Colorado Springs.
Schedule highlights include an early-season playoff rematch with Detroit on April 27 at Highmark Stadium, as well as a match with Louisville on June 19.
The summer slate includes four straight home weekends in July.
The Hounds cap the regular season with two of their last three games at home. They face rival Charleston at home Oct. 12 and El Paso at Highmark Stadium on Oct. 26.
Rhode Island is a newcomer to the Eastern Confernce, and North Carolina returns to USL Championship after three season in USL League One.
Memphis and Tulsa have moved to the Western Conference to replace San Diego and Rio Grande Valley, both of which left the league.
Select games in 2024 will be shown on CBS, CBS Sports Network and Paramount+ as part of the USL Championship’s new national deal with CBS.
Last season, the Hounds sold out 13 of 17 regular-season home matches.
