Behind first-half goals by Alexis Tylenda and Olivia Damico, the Pittsburgh Riveters earned a 2-0 victory over Flower City 1872, in a USL W League game Friday at Highmark Stadium.

Goalkeeper Pauline Nelles made four saves for the Riveters (2-1-1), who secured a season sweep of Flower City (1-2-0).

The Riveters’ first goal came off a shot by Tessa Dellarose. Tylenda, a Shaler grad, pounced on the rebound and buried a shot into the top of the net.

Just before halftime, Tanum Nelson crossed a pass to Damico, who found the open net for a 2-0 lead. Damico, a Penn State product, was named the player of the match.

The Riveters next will visit Erie Sports Center (0-2-1) at 6 p.m. Thursday.
