St. Francis (Pa)’s Courtney Zezza, right, chases the ball in front of Robert Morris’ Esther Castedo (22) during the first half of an NCAA college basketball game for the championship of the Northeast Conference women’s tournament, Sunday, March 17, 2019, in Moon, Pa.

Courtney Zezza, a Plum graduate and senior center/forward on the St. Francis (Pa.) women’s basketball team, will take part in a professional combine Saturday at Tampa Prep High School in Tampa, Fla.

Zezza joins Red Flash senior teammate Jess Kovatch at the combine and will be evaluated by more than 30 professional agents and WNBA coaches who will be in Tampa for the NCAA Women’s Final Four.

Zezza said she hopes to get the opportunity to play professionally in the United States or possibly in Europe.

She said her height at 6-foot-4, including her shot-blocking ability, as well as her ability to also shoot the 3-pointer, could help her connect with a team overseas.

“I never really thought about playing professionally when I first got to Saint Francis,” Zezza said. “Once I started to progress as a player, I realized that I could probably play overseas.”

Zezza scored 12 points and added six rebounds and two steals in her St. Francis career finale, a 65-54 loss to Robert Morris in the Northeast Conference championship game March 17.

She averaged 8.9 points and 6.1 rebounds this past season with a team-best 88 blocks.

Zezza owns the St. Francis program record for blocks in a season (110 in 2016-17) and a career (299).

She also ranks 13th on the career-rebound list with 601.

Zezza will graduate from St. Francis next month with a degree in marketing/management.
