He’ll be performing at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Improv in Homestead. And he’s featured on our “Breakfast With Benz” podcast Wednesday.
LISTEN: Pittsburgh comedian, sports nut Steve Byrne
Byrne actually joined me on Friday on 105.9 the X to promote his show, which was originally scheduled for Monday night. But it had to be postponed because of travel issues. So that gives us a chance to play the interview today and a chance for you to see Byrne if you were out of town for Memorial Day.
Part of the reason Byrne is back in Pittsburgh is to get some pick-up shots for one of his two new movies. The Hampton native is the writer and director of “Opening Act.” It’s a film based on his experience as a young comic starting off on the road.
Also, Byrne’s “Always Amazing” documentary about comedian-magician “The Amazing Jonathan” debuts on Bill Burr’s “All Things Comedy” podcast Monday.
We talk about both films, his stand-up career, life as a director and all things Pittsburgh sports as well.
