Slippery Rock’s Roland Rivers III delivers a pass in the NCAA Division III quarterfinals Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019, at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium. Rivers accounted for eight touchdowns.

The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference was well-represented on the Don Hansen Football Gazette NCAA Division II All-Super Region 1 teams, which were released this weekend.

Harlon Hill Trophy winning quarterback Rolan Rivers III of Slippery Rock was named offensive player of the year, while Shawn Lutz of Slippery Rock picked up coach of the year honors.

Rivers led the nation in passing yards with 4,460 and touchdowns with 52.

SRU finished 13-1 and reached the NCAA semifinals. The Rock had seven first-team selections, including receivers Henry Litwin and Jermaine Wynn, offensive linemen Ryan Podgorski and Chris Larsen, defensive end Chad Kuhn, and linebacker Brad Zaffram.

IUP had four first-teamers in center Jeff Arnold, defensive end Dondrea Tillman, linebacker Damon Lloyd and cornerback Nazir Streater.

Defensive lineman Gerald Brown and safety Lamont McPhatter made the first team from Cal U.

The first- and second-team All-Region players are now eligible for All-America consideration.

Super Region 1 consists of schools from the PSAC, Mountain East Conference, Northeast-10 Conference, and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference.
