Reaction to Colts-Broncos more offensive than game itself
And you thought the Steelers’ offense had its problems.
The Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos played a Thursday night game for the ages — and not in a good way.
Neither team scored a touchdown. Both quarterbacks — Matt Ryan and Russell Wilson (whom the Broncos signed to the second-largest contract in NFL history in the offseason) — threw a pair of interceptions. And no skill player went over 100 yards rushing or receiving.
Yeesh.
This game tests our football fandom. God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers

It was even enough that play-by-play announcer Al Michaels quipped, “Sometimes a game can be — at least at this point — so bad, it’s almost good. You know what I’m saying?”
To which color analyst Kirk Herbstreit replied, “No.”
Al Michaels is doing everything he can to earn his paycheck tonight.

What was it that bad?
According to Jim Rome, yes.
This is literally the worst football game I have ever witnessed

Of course, social media had its turn poking fun of the teams, Wilson and the Broncos’ decision to spend $245 million over five years on the former Seattle Seahawks quarterback.
It’s looking more and more likely the Broncos purchased ????. Russ has been AWFUL so far this season. We’re not riding anywhere with him playing like this. Love my Broncos but ish for the birds. I’m sorry #BroncoCountry for this terrible display of offensive football.

When easy-going former NFL coach Wade Phillips starts on you, you know things are bad. And he’s not exactly known as being an offensive innovator.
I think both team should consider punting on 1st down.

At least it wasn’t on broadcast or cable television. Thursday night games are streamed on Amazon Prime, so those watching really had to search to find bad football.
Things can only get better from here. Right?
Not exactly.
this is brutal... but guess what
next Thursday's game?
Washington Commanders @ Chicago Bears

Hey, there’s always Friday night college football!
Oh …
Thank god we have a Nebraska-Rutgers palate cleanser tomorrow night.
