Washington Redskins quarterback Dwayne Haskins scored his first win as an NFL quarterback, but missed his final play because he was celebrating by taking selfies with fans in the stands.

Haskins thought the game was over and took several snaps with jubilant fans in the front row.

The Redskins held on for a 19-16 home win over the Detroit Lions at FedExField in Landover, Md.

Interim coach Bill Callahan had to send in backup Case Keenum on the field to kneel down and run out the clock.

“I was so hype I think I broke a water bottle,” Haskins said, the Associated Press reported. “I look up and we were in victory (formation) and said, ‘Oh, I thought the game was over with already.’ But I’ll get it next time.”

Haskins, the 15th overall draft pick, was 13 of 29 for 156 yards and an interception.

“We were looking for him,” interim coach Bill Callahan said after the game. “I think he thought the game was over. I think he thought it was over. I’ll have to find out a little bit more.”

The Washington Post reported the Callahan completely happy with the blunder. “I don’t laugh at it,” Callahan said. “I’m happy we won. We’ll address that.”

One former player was not happy with the rookie’s enthusiasm. Former Redskins quarterback Joe Theismann called the photo op “unprofessional and wrong.”
